Two-week notices are so dumb, for everyone.

My company actually requires a one-month notice. This is a unique situation in my opinion, like I kind of understand. I work with one other person in property management. They want the extra time so he doesn't have to work extra or be here alone all the time. It's fine, I've been working with the dude for a year and I like him so simply from that, I will follow policy. If I was quitting because I got mad or hated my job, I'd probably not care. Anyway… The problem is, I'm sitting here, two weeks into my notice, and I just do not at all want to be here, obviously. I know I'm on my way out. I have another job already happening. Anytime a customer comes in here I give the worst service I've ever given. I'm doing no other tasks. I'm just sitting here. Why do companies…

I'm absolutely useless, and I'm honestly a bit concerned I'll do something to screw this place up. I just want to leave. Let me leave! Or at least let me just do what I want (like come in for a few hours, help as needed, etc). — why must I fulfill my full schedule?!?
