To start this off, I went to a company training. I was a few days away from turning 20, so still underage. The company higher ups were drinking and I had some as well and we bonded. No one was taken advantage of whatsoever and I learned that I really do love my coworkers. Now here is the thing. During that time I had a really great conversation before anyone actually got drunk (I did not get drunk, just had a white claw and mostly water cause I’m not a drinker). It was discussed that they wanted me to train for a new position, as I have the knowledge and skills. That whole week we were out for training I had every higher up come up to me and say they’re proud of me for landing this opportunity. I’m excited because my hard work paid off!
Cut to coming back home. A week of normal work to catch up before I transferred for training, I asked about the plan. I was told that they don’t see the training happening at all in the far future. I feel taken advantage of and am so pissed. They all bonded with me, made me feel at home. Came up to me and whole heartedly told me to always call if I needed anything. I genuinely don’t know what to do. I was already planning on leaving but became optimistic with that carrot on a stick. Not to mention I am well over 90 days and haven’t gotten the promised raise in the contract.
I wish finding a new job to accommodate rent was easy, but I’m stuck here. Is there really anything I can do besides mope around?!?
