Unemployment insurance

I worked for an out of state fed contractor for almost a year. When I was hired, I didn't know management experience but boots on the ground in the field experience. I got no management training, but I could call the CEO for questions. There was a lot. I tried my best but I struggled. I thought I kept it under wraps because the CEO rarely complained. I went away on vacation, the CEO managed the team. I came back, she said everything was fine. A month later, she wrote up a staff member and me for not writing HIM up. We met with a HR representative I never saw before. The CEO offered me a demotion, to be the lead but not the program manager like I was. Same pay she said, less responsibility. I said no, and I was then terminated. It happened so quick. Everything was “fine”.…

Everything was “fine”. I knew there were issues but I never thought she'd give me.

Anyway, I filed for unemployment and I got it. Then a few weeks later, I got notification the company has appealed it.

Had the appeal with the judge, me and the CEO. I actually wasn't expecting her to show but she did. She lied on some parts which I tried to clear and also explain what happened.

Well, I got the letter today. Her appeal was granted. No unemployment for me.

It's been 9 months since. I have not found a job like it, nor have I found anything else truthfully.

I don't know what to do and I don't understand why the company wouldn't just let me have the unemployment. She fired me!

I tried my best. And now I have nothing to show for a year of effort.

I can appeal the decision but I feel so defeated now. I'm not sure if I have to pay back the EI I did get for those weeks.

I'm just, idk. I wasn't expecting the company to fight it. Or win the appeal.
