Unethical denial of reference from an ex-boss

Hello everyone, I'm currently in the UK, and I'm shifting sectors. I did an unpaid internship for charity X and I left because the director's son was harassing me at work and behaving unprofessionally. My supervisor however was very supportive and allowed me to file a complaint and let me flag it after I resigned. She gave me a recommendation letter, however, a lot of organizations when I'm trying to apply for a job now require me to provide them a reference and the point of contact to be an official email address which doesn't have a Gmail or email. Also, my supervisor isn't on LinkedIn. So when I emailed the charity after talking to a colleague I used to work with who recommended writing in, to ask them who I could put down as the point of contact for reference they replied to me stating they couldn't write me a reference due to the issues I caused during after my work. While I'm sure my complaint was an “issue” after I resigned, before I resigned worked diligently and worked beyond the required days. Now, the director has emailed me saying he'll consider giving me a reference only if I meet him or talk to him.

I'm very confused as to how to go about this. If I could get any advice or guidance and especially for anyone from the HR side of things it would be great
