Unreal work environment

My work refuses to allow work from home despite us being completely able to do our jobs remotely. Our office is an open setup. At first it wasn’t bad, we were able to put our headphones in. However recently my manager has implemented a no headphone policy as well as made several comments that we’ve been chatting too much throughout the day (whilst doing our work and meeting deadlines). Despite us not being able to talk a lot to each other, my manager DAILY will disrupt our flow of work to ask us multiple questions (rather than send emails), have personal conversations about her own life and so on This week, we’ve had major construction works going on and we’ve all been complaining. There’s been constant drilling all day, with nothing but the sound of my managers voice disrupting all of us. I’m off sick with a severe migraine and…

This week, we’ve had major construction works going on and we’ve all been complaining. There’s been constant drilling all day, with nothing but the sound of my managers voice disrupting all of us. I’m off sick with a severe migraine and the morale at work amongst us is low. My manager has only just offered to purchase ear plugs “if we wanted”.

All this to avoid a couple of days of WFH. Never felt more like a robot in my life
