I'm referencing the following post that I made yesterday.
I honestly didn't go back to reddit after submitting the post so I didn't see your comments until recently. Most people agreed that I should be upfront and straight forward by saying that I won't be able to make it.
That's close to what I did in actuality. I know this owner loves to get personal so I told them a lie about having to take my younger brother somewhere far so that they couldn't get me to go to work. The other manager did actually call me late last night which had me confused and soon after I messaged I couldn't come, but they were actually nice about it and understood. The owner left my message on read.
I guess we will see what the mood is like when I come back to work the next day.
