I work for a mid-size financial company in the American Midwest. Our company put in a hiring freeze yet announced they were opening a “technology center of excellence” in India to augment our technical staff. To me it sounds like the hiring freeze will be stateside with all new positions going overseas but they won’t say it. Yet this same (and many other similar employers) are raking in profits and wonder why people leave at any chance they get.
