Vindictive Boss

I put in my notice at my old company in early July with a last date in late July. I left because of bad ethics. My old company asked if I could stay on the payroll but just put my “out of office” on and take holiday until they thought through communications to the rest of the team. My last day in the office was 7/28. I started my new job 7/31. The old job let me know via text on 8/31 they would would like notice on 9/1. I provided notice 9/1. The next day, the reached out you my new job telling them I had been working two jobs and was unethical. They also then sent me a bill for the computer equipment I left in the office o er a month ago. Vindictive and petty. It would have been less effort for them just to let it…

Vindictive and petty. It would have been less effort for them just to let it go. Now my new job and reputation is at risk. Unfortunately, I did actually provide notice in writing 9/1 while all my “discussions” were verbal, so it doesn't look good.

Anybody else have vindictive leaders?
