Wage grid fuckery

May 1st I moved into a middle management position at a large human services work agency, this was after two years of covering off on the position while the supervisor in the position worked remotely. This means I was supervising and training new hires directly without being paid. I did negotiate an improved wage with the new position. Today, I came to find out a new wage grid was approved by our board in July without any announcement. So now instead of being on step 5/7 I’m on 2/7. I began advocating for my team and myself to retain their steps on the grid so new hires won’t be receiving more money than those with experience. Only to find that not only was I doing a supervisory position without being paid for two years but I was training people who were getting paid more than me while I was doing…
