Hi all,
My boss was about to retire and I had a meeting with his two superiors to discuss the possibility of me applying to his position. I was reluctant to get my hopes up because there were rumors that they were going to require a bachelors degree. (The job is a maintenance director position, and i I’m currently the assistant director.) My boss didn’t have a bachelors which is why I thought there would be some opportunity there.
I was told I would be given the opportunity by upper management, but immediately before the job posted, I was brought in and told that they were going to require a bachelors degree and that I would be screened out.
It kinda sucks because I’ve been there for 7 years and it’s tough to leave now because there’s a pension and all that.
To add insult to injury, the guy they hired (my new boss) is a total patsy.
I’m having all the “fuck that place” feels right now.
Anyhow, thanks for listening!
