Aaaaaand here I am again. I was just in this subreddit a week ago, and now I’m back.
I (19nb) just got written up twice by both my supervisor and my manager. One of the write ups was valid, I had made mistakes handling money and I deserved my punishment for that. However, it’s the other one I am very upset about.
I’m going to clarify just as I did in my last post. We are not a company, we are customer service. There are five of us total. The chain of command goes:
Myself and my newest coworker -> our supervisor -> our manager -> our boss.
I’ve worked here for four years and this was my first time getting written up. What was the reason? “Disrespect”. I mean this in the nicest way possible, but I have no backbone. I do not have a disrespectful bone in my body, and my neurodivergency quite honestly prevents me from being disrespectful even when I should be.
Apparently (and this is according to my supervisor) on Monday of last week, I came into work snappy and upset (also not true). I had left a stack of open envelopes on my supervisors desk from the mail that weekend. It was an accident, I should have thrown them away. She picked them up and asked me when they were from: I answered her honestly and said I wasn’t sure if they were from Friday or Saturday. She smugly went “well, I sure hope they were logged.” and then handed them to me. I threw them away. Apparently what my supervisor had said was “can you make sure they’re logged” and I “threw them away in her face”. She did not immediately correct me, or tell me I disrespected her. She waited until Monday of the next week.
Am I out of line?
