Was told to stop letting things get to me by my boss

Hi so for reference I work for an independent bar so when I say my boss I also mean the owner of company. A few months ago I was assaulted by a customer, After dealing with begging for the cctv and getting no support with filing a police report I’ve felt a lot more on edge on shift. I immediately made him aware of this and that I didn’t feel safe to work during one of these days, Instead of being offered support,Someone to work with or to close down I was told “if I say you’re safe you are safe”. I had to essentially beg to close as we now were the last bar open in a 10 minute walk radius.

I had a meeting with him today and was told “stop letting things get to you” and to “grow some balls”.

Could I just get an outside perspective and see what everyone thinks about this because I feel like it’s a major safeguarding issue
