Watching the place burn down around me and absolutely loving it.

For the last couple months I've been absolutely hating my job. (Corporate cannabis) I've been there 5 years and have watched over eight managers come in, show their incompetence, and leave. Every aspect of it was run terribly. Multi-state corporation that literally didn't know any KPIs or cogs. Just tried to sell sell sell. Started with a ton of investor money and just blew it. I'm talking $1,000 office chairs, every manager got MacBook pros, 80-in TVs in the conference rooms. Renting office printers for 5k a month that never get used and so much more. Fast forward to now and we are on our fourth CEO, eighth manager and so many corporate titles cut that I didn't even know we had that many people in corporate.

Sad thing is with all those people cut nothing changed which tells me they weren't doing anything anyway.

The underlying anxiety that everyone has has really been starting to eat away at the structure and discipline that we did have. Tons of gossip and disrespect have been rampant these last few months and after being neglected by my boss for so long, I really grew to resent and hate it.

After multiple emails and meetings with him, nothing was changing. He was terrified of conflict so just let co-workers who acted like spoiled teenagers, Do whatever they want, it's been real toxic and aggressive to the point where even though I'm supposed to be leading a department, I literally just spend the day trying to be busy and out of the way.

So I've been applying and looking for jobs outside of cannabis but it's been tough. My boss asked me how an interview went. He was just stabbing in the dark considering my attitude lately. I told him I've been on a serious dry spell and he proceeded to tell me that he had an interview yesterday and that we have an outstanding bill to a very critical vendor of over $30,000. Once they stop, we physically can't proceed and even though he's been telling corporate that the bill needs to be paid. Nothing has been sent in over 4 months. He basically told me he's expecting the doors to shut any day.

As terrified as I am because I have nothing lined up, it still brings a giant smile to my face thinking of most (95%) of my coworkers faces when the doors shut.
