Watching the Restaurant I Work at Implode in Real Time

A lil rant about my workplace Since July I have been working at this restaurant. The pay is shitty, commute is 2 – 4 hours each time and most bosses have been.. weird. But money is money when you have nothing else. Already from the start things where weird. My boss told me I was not allowed to apply for other jobs while working there, but I was also hired on a shift basis and not regular so my income and time working was highly irregular. Similarily I was hired alongside others, one of which would get a full time position in autumn because it would be their “busy period”. A lil rant about my workplace

Since July I have been working at this restaurant.

Mind you its at an airport aswell so that sounded weird.

Some days I worked with less than 11 hours rest inbetween.

A coworker of me, known for not doing their job well and about to be hired fulltime got a better offer from a hotel. Somehow the pervert shift leader found this out and the restaurant boss and they both scolded her and she lost the chance for a full time.

My breaks are not paid but mandatory and staff food is deducted from my salary (taken during the breaks regardless if I eat it or not).

Most of the coworkers I worked with at the start quit. I stopped getting shifts and considered quitting but got one today (been looking for work at the side)

Then I found out the shift leaders begun quitting. The pervert among them but also other long term people.

And today I found out that the boss herself and restaurant manager both quit due to “better offers”. So much for taking the job serious and the workplace first. I guess the same rules don't apply to the higher ups. Only lower levels have to dedicate everything here.

The last shiftleader, not even one of the originals and the one I got the best along with was chocked to find out the boss quit and now no one is left. They are one of the few that actually liked trying their best there. They ended up breaking down feeling abandoned and I get them. Everyone is jumping ship, it does not seem positive for the future. And the parent company is opening a larger restaurant next door..

Then I found out today that apparently not even shift leaders got the password for the cashier computers. It was built on the assumption that they never should be restarted.

They had to call a fucking tech company using teamspeaker to unlock the computer. It feels so scummy and distrustful. Workers are asked to give everything and then receive nothing..

I can't see how the place will last and I havent gotten any new offers so I am kinda fucked.

Thanks for listening to my tedtalk.
