I hope that one day robots and AI can take over all jobs. Then we can all really live without the need for money. Unfortunately, we probably won't be alive anymore if and when this hapens.
I think however that if that happens, humans can really live their lives in freedom. Every day waking up with no need for work, just all spare time. If you want to work hard on something you do that, without any consequences of doing a poor job. You also then don't work or learn because you must, but because you want to.
To me going to school 5 days a week was wasting my life, because I only got two days back. It is basically stealing my life. I don't get any life profit out of it, only loss. Yes, I learn something, however I can also learn something with 3,5 days a week and by focussing on the really important things first.
Now I work 4 days however, which makes it more fair. However, when do I get the lost time from my school period back? Retirement? What if I die early? I won't earn those days back then.
With full automation of all life processes, money and much schooling is not necessary anymore. Probably some basic schooling to just be able to do things you need in life, like reading. But after that, life is up to you.
We could even life in a virtual world if that becomes advanced enough to be indistinguishable from real life. Then our bodies could be hooked up to plumbing and nutritions while we have infinite space in our own world (also no houses needed, only containers for our bodies). That way there will be no arguing about resources, because your home/world can be expanded however you like.
No more poorness, no need to work and no more wars/conflict (just go to your own virtual world as a group if you don't agree with another group). Also no more travel time as our bodies are hooked up to a virtual world and you can just teleport and visit eachothers worlds. Also no more accidents, because everything is virtual. There are lots of advantages.
Would be cool to have multiple public worlds too. If you don't like or don't agree with the people in it, just join another. Most people don't like furries for example, so just let them be in their own world. I have autism, so I could go to an autistic people only world. Or just chill in my private world.
The possibilities are endless if we really could achieve this.
