I had gone through three interviews for an apprenticeship position in a new-to-me industry and was absolutely a finalist for said position. Someone else from an adjacent department wanted to interview me as well, as the position I interviewed for and the adjacent department work together in many aspects.
Okay, no problem, I figured. Someone just wanted to have a more informal chat.
Wrong…apparently the other manager took this opportunity to wrest away hiring power from who was supposed to be the hiring manager and fucked me. He said he wasn’t confident in my experience for an apprenticeship position.
Can someone make sense of someone bitching about not having enough experience to get into an apprenticeship program?
BTW, I recently looked at the requirements for the position I was robbed of. Lo and behold, the goalposts for experience required have been moved 🤦️
