Well-being days are a corporate scam designed to make it seem like companies care about you

I was recently in a meeting where the CEO excitedly announced they were giving everyone 3 paid “well-being days” off per year for full time employees. Everyone cheered and clapped at being given 72 measly hours of their whole year back as if they were receiving a huge kindness, but I could barely stifle a laugh because of how dystopian and gross it was that THAT was such an awesome bonus for people. It was like capitalist brainwashing was playing out in front of my eyes. Not to mention these “well-being days” are just designed to keep people from burning out and quitting completely so they don’t have to bother hiring anyone new.
