So today is my last day as an IT help desk contractor at Wells Fargo. At the beginning of this week I told our team lead Michael that my ISP will be doing maintenance, and that I’ll put in an outage report when it happens. In the past when this has happened I put the outage report in, and submit my normal 8hr workday like normal. I’ve had this happen at least 3 times in the past and have never had a problem. Tuesday and Wednesday I had outages in the evening that I reported and notified my team lead of.
Today is my last day and so I submitted my timesheet(40hrs) and a few minutes later I get a timesheet rejection letter. Thinking I made a mistake- I checked our time reporting software, nope 40 hours. So I email my manager and she told me that I reported too many hours. She then goes on to tell me that it’s not policy for them to pay us when our ISP is going maintenance… I told her that this was pretty frustrating to hear and very confusing, and that if I had known I would have come into the office. Her response was basically: “fuck you it’s policy” contractors don’t have “pto”.
I could care less about the money, fuck Wells Fargo and fuck the dystopian contractor work model that we put up with. This whole country needs a fucking work reform. Pic is my last email at the company, sorry for shit quality
