I worked for a company for more than 2 years and during this time I introduced new structure to their marketing, scaled their Tiktok account and increased their awareness in a new country. All throughout this time I was working way past my working hours, on weekends, showed up at their marketing events and led their “diversity committee”.
This morning I was told my role would be made redundant due to dwindling profits. I'm still processing all of this – a part of me is relieved that I'm out of this toxic place but then I'm also feeling a deep sense of loss. Coming to terms with the realisation that all that hard work I put in didn't really mean anything because at the end of the day it's all about the bottom line.
I'm not sure why I'm posting this but I guess I just wanted a little rant.
