I called my boss and explained that I'd be leaving the company in a week due to a sudden opportunity. As you'd figure, he didn't like it and had a bit of a fit. Despite me being extremely kind and thanking him for everything he insisted he didn't even need me around for the final week. It sucks cause that's a week's worth of money I'm losing all for being honest about my next move. He just had someone else quit on the spot and I thought I'd be doing right by him by giving him a heads up. I guess just quit on your bosses when you're ready if you don't wanna starve for a week.
TL;DR: My boss fired me for letting him know I was gonna quit.
