WFH- idle time

Someone from a diff sub suggested to post here… I work from home and recently the company I work for has been on every remote workers butt about idle time. They look at your work and idle time, I am a very efficient worker so I get everything done quickly. My manager told me that in order to get a promotion I have to get my idle time lower since it’s too high but my numbers are great in every aspect. It seems like everything is tracked. If your mouse isn’t moving for 90 sec it automatically counts as idle time. There’s been a system update and now mouse jigglers are showing up as the computer is sleeping when it’s on. This job is a means to an end and unfortunately at this point I can’t quite since I’m making a good amount and it’s setting me up for my next steps in life.

How can I get around this? Any tips from people who finish their work and can’t fill all 8 hours. Much appreciated! Thanks 🙂
