Today, my period started and I had to drag myself out of bed and drive an hour to work and an hour back, just to show my ugly face to my male colleges. Myself and other women are forced to go about our days like we are not fully drained of energy and like we are not literally bleeding and uncomfortable.
WFH was the greatest equalizer given to women in a corporate workplace. I can sit in my bed with a hot pack and work. I can change pads as needed, no fear of unprofessional “leaks”. I can be just as productive as men on these days, I just need to be able to be comfortable while doing it.
These CEOs are ripping the best thing to happen to women away from us, and this isn’t even something that has crossed their minds.
Not to mention, I am not judged over Zoom for looking “too young” or dressing “too” feminine because no one can even see you that well. And women (who a lot of times bear the majority of housework) are allowed to get stuff done in tandem.
WFH is a women’s rights issue and I’ll stand by that.
