Hello it’s pretty much what the title says.
I have had great attendance, and my performance was up to standards. Well at least that’s what they told me during the meeting.
So I get to work and clock in. Everything goes smoothly I even decide to clock in 5 mins early and begin working. It’s a Monday and I know we all want to go home so I made sure I put a little extra kick in my step. This was 7am. I worked like normal and then around 8:45am I get called to the office and I was like hmm this is weird ( I haven’t ever been called to the office. )….
When I get into the office I ask “hey what’s going on?” They respond with “we are sorry to inform you but we have a high head count and you guys were the two lowest on the totem pole so they decided to let you guys go”. I give them a dirty look like I’m annoyed I’m sure they could tell I was annoyed and then proceeded to say “its nothing performance related or attendance wise it’s just that we have too high of a head count right now but we will let you know if anything changes”……
So when I clocked in this morning I quite literally witnessed three “new hires”. So I don’t understand the logic behind firing good workers for brand new ones. And then lie and say its because there are too many people.
Why are jobs able to do this? What do I do untill I get another job? Can I get unemployment benefits?
I’m at a loss. I have a daughter this is so fucked up. There should be a law where they have to give a two weeks notice just like we do.
