Something that leftists don't like to hear is that Americans are not Swiss. There are towns in this country with more people than braincells. America doesn't have to be and even can't be a direct democracy. There are many countries, like Venezuela or Sri Lanka that collapsed because of democratic populism, with the way things are going right now, even a parliament is too much democracy for the U.S. Maybe it needs to become an enlightened absolutist country like Singapore.
