Despite having a fully digital job, I am being forced back into the office after over 3 years of proper deliverables. My manager has never known me in the office where she works.
Also a little nervous because almost all of the “non-untouchable” folks at my company have been laid off lately who have been here as long as I have (7.5 years – and I've had trouble trying to find a job outside the industry [cannabis] anytime I've tried in that time). My job has been used to help trim other fat in the meanwhile, too.
I've spent most of today downloading all my pay stubs but, just in case I get let go and my company fights the unemployment claim I potentially file, what other data should I save?
I redid my resume and have already found some promising jobs to apply to and my partner has a few ideas, but I am just not ready to be exposed to everyone's germs in the office again. Any encouragement appreciated, solidarity with others in the same position. Especially if there are ways to bounce off the cannabis questions I'll inevitably get and turn it around to positive answers outside the industry.
