What to do..(advice)

So I got hired with my current company in the shipping department. Worked in that department for about a year and a half, and then an opportunity opened up in the assembly department building electronics. I applied, and got the job, but it took months for me to transfer into the position bc the company had a hard time finding decent workers to replace me in shipping. They finally did, and I’ve been working in the assembly department for 6 months now and absolutely love the job. Well, recently they ended up firing all 3 associates in the shipping department for stealing time and slacking off, so now I’m temporarily back in the shipping department until they find replacements again, and VERY unhappy about it. I’m being told by some of my coworkers that I should’ve told my boss no, I won’t go back to the shipping department bc that’s…

I’m being told by some of my coworkers that I should’ve told my boss no, I won’t go back to the shipping department bc that’s not my position any longer. At the same time though, I feel I should go back bc they need help getting product out the door, and that’s what my boss told me needed to be done. What’s your thoughts on the situation? Or what would you do?
