I apologize if this isn't the correct subreddit to post this in, please point me in the right direction if it's not.
For a little bit of context I am a contractor through an employment agency with this company. I started in March of 2023, with a 6-month contract that got renewed in August of 2023. We just found out last week that it's been renewed again until June of 2024. This company does mostly contract work, so even if they like you, if there isn't a spot on a contract for you you have to wait until one becomes available.
It's a really good job, and I don't have to be chained to my computer so it makes it easy to take care of my 2-year-old. I really don't want to lose it.
I found out I was pregnant in August, and I've only told one other person, a fellow contractor. Probably a dumb idea but I was very excited and I'm generally a naive person who doesn't think that anybody would ever be so mean spirited as to backstab.
I was going to wait until the midpoint of my pregnancy to tell my supervisors, just because you never know what can happen in early pregnancy. But I've been second-guessing that this whole time, should I have told them sooner? Should I wait longer to tell them? Since I'm a contractor I don't get maternity leave so anytime off will be unpaid. And they could very easily just let me go now. I just hit 20 weeks so I need to figure this out. Any advice?
