When leaders likes to get others involved…

I’m curious to know why this happens. When someone with a leadership position requests a simple task to be corrected, they would reply in an all chat with hundreds of people to see when they can simply reach out to managers to help provide a solution. I’m at a company where things are always ad hoc. Last minute changes happen, projects get cancelled, and the time spent on work goes down the toilet. It’s like there’s no sense of direction or process to follow. It’s always about making the customer “happy” with a sell.

I get it, profits are on the line, work needs to be done, we’re all busy.

But when things are missed, why the f*** do you (leader) escalate and tag hundreds of people on an email thread to get one problem fixed? I don’t even think it’s about accountability. It definitely feels like shedding light and putting others down to make you feel better about yourself. You could have simply emailed the person without the need to put all those irrelevant people on board. Hell even the janitor and chef is on the email thread.

Now the work needs to be completed and potentially employment is on the line…
