When my work has events/office “parties,” you have to clock out to attend them

The title says it all, but I just want to express how ridiculous I think this is. They expect you to use (already extremely stingy) PTO to do something work-related. I only get 10 paid days off per year. That includes sick time and vacation. That never goes up, no matter how long you've been at the company. I'm basically too scared to ever take a vacation day, because COVID or the flu could easily use up all of my PTO in one go. Yet they have the nerve to pressure me to use PTO to drink flat soda in a conference room. Sorry guys, but I am never, ever attending ANYTHING.
