When to ask for a raise?

I'm currently working for a small company, in which only 4 employees can do my job and it takes us an average of 6 months to replace one of us. Next week our first shift guy is going on vacation and I'm considering asking for a raise and quiting if I'm turned down. I asked for and received a raise in January, but it just brought my pay up to the industry standard minus benefits. They can survive without me, but it would cause serious problems if I were to quit while someone else is on vacation. My thinking is to ask on Monday morning and if I don't get a response by Tuesday or Wednesday just pack up and leave. Is that going to far? Should I give them more time to respond? I have two numbers in my head, one is acceptable(14%+) and the other(36%+) would be ideal…
