Why can’t people leave high school behind?

Thursday night at work, a co-worker & I sat for a few minutes in chairs at empty desks. We didn't bother anything on the desks. We were waiting for things in our area (visible from & adjacent to where we sat) to be ready so we could go to work. Nobody was using those desks at the time. Friday, I went to sit there again and one chair had a note on the seat, “you can't sit here”. Huh. OK… Moved it aside, used the chair that was nearby. Next time I was in, the assistant department manager lectured all of us: “See those chairs over there? None of you are allowed to sit in them!” WTF?! Pretty sure those belong to the company. Plus, again, we didn't mess with anything on the desks. Some people never outgrew high school.
