Why do adults talk to one another this way?

For context – we have a new employee going through orientation. I’m leaving and this employee will be my replacement. They are scheduled for orientation today and tomorrow. My new-ish boss messaged me at 10 am this morning and asked that the new employee sit in on a 12:30 pm meeting. I did not feel it appropriate to pull them out of group orientation, which is scheduled/hosted/attended by other employees to attend this meeting (which was a wrap up from a project that will be finalized before I leave). I shared the minutes from the meeting with the employee and meet with them before they left today to review the agenda and items we covered. This is the text I got from my boss after work hours. I realize I should have communicated with my boss but WHY do adults feel it’s okay to talk to one another like this??…
