I went to a restaurant this morning (I just got carry-out). But of course, because it's Labor Day, the restaurant was crazy.
Note that I was being pretty patient with waiting for my food because I knew they were really busy.
I asked this guy about whether my food was ready, and he was like “I'll be real, but it's my first day and first hour, so I'm just taking it in.”
I can't imagine the manager didn't know it'd be really busy on actual Labor Day (this isn't a new restaurant). But why in the world's would you start someone on actual Labor Day when you clearly know it'll be insane?
