Why don’t more people use tuition reimbursement programs offered by employers?

With the cost of higher education in the USA leaving college grads with high debt, I’m wondering if going the tuition reimbursement route would be a better alternative route for some. Instead of going straight to college after graduating high school, racking up a lot of debt, and having trouble getting a job afterwards because you have no experience, why not start out in an entry level customer service/call center type role at a company that offers tuition reimbursement, work on the degree or certifications you want, then you’ll have both the education and work experience to help facilitate moving up to a higher paying role. Maybe people aren’t aware this is an option? I definitely didn’t know about it when I was younger until I joined the workforce. It pains me reading about some of the tough situations on here. Hoping this can maybe help someone!
