Many employees in the US have today off, making this a three day weekend. I used to just appreciate the extra day, but what gets me now is that we are just as productive every week where we have a three day weekend. Why can’t we make this every week? The 40 hour workweek was a compromise and is wholly disconnected from human wellness or the realities of taking care of a home/family with a two-income household.
