Why must I endure toxic jobs in order to buy toiletpaper? Why don’t I just end it instead?

A question i ask myself from time to time. I know jobs haven't always been easy, but at least our parents could afford to live really well. Even if a job was soul sucking, they had a reason to keep going. I don't see it anymore.
