I am manager in a franchise restaurant is the US, I always been on time and never called out, right now we are a little slow, so is only the other manager and me working in the kitchen that day.
The same day I get a call from my wife that she’s feeling extremely bad and had to go to the ER, in my rush I told the other manager I had to leave to see my wife, when I got there I started getting calls and messages the owner that “the store is a responsibility and you cannot leave like that” and “you need to tell me first and make a plan” and I was warned is the last time is going to happen..
I was so worried about my wife and I didn’t know the gravity of the situation until I got there, how I’m a supposed to “make a plan” when I’m rushing to the hospital when my wife is having a emergency….
