Within 2 months, our new building manager has caused practically everyone to quit

…and if it weren't for living in an extremely expensive rural and small town with almost no job prospects, I would have dipped out myself, so I'm watching the place burn to the ground from the sidelines. I started work at our shipping facility a little more than a year ago and all was well. I had an injury from a previous job that was accommodated for by the manager at the time who was awesome. When she applied for the operations position, corporate gave it to a guy who lived several states away in a far more populated area. My coworkers were hesitant about the guy, but I felt like I'd give him the benefit of a doubt(oh how naive and young I was). Within two months, this guy has proceeded to: raise our wages to 16.65…..but cut our hours so it's basically not even different from before removed…

Within two months, this guy has proceeded to:

  • raise our wages to 16.65…..but cut our hours so it's basically not even different from before
  • removed spacing platforms from several trucks in an obsession to cut down steps….therefore making it near impossible on busy days to not trip over tons of cinema in-the-way boxes
  • blame all problems on the contractors, even for things that are very clearly not their fault. He threw one under the bus right in front of him when I was trying to talk to him about the platform thing, despite it literally not being anything he was involved in. Also I have heard the ridiculous yelling on the phone with them
  • ignore any and all advice or concerns the longstanding employees have brought up
  • is now refusing to get us replacement gloves, citing 'safety concerns', despite the fact we lift heavy packages and have had gloves for literal years. My thumb got saved by wearing my gloves and nearly getting it sliced, so this is a matter I've been stubborn on, not even including the chemicals that spill often
  • refuses to even go on the line anymore, if he sees me or a couple other soon-to-be-gone long-timers he literally runs away. It'd be hilarious if it wasn't so frustrating

I don't get livid often, but this guy has managed to do it. The most patient and caring handlers I knew have yelled at him, and he blatantly doesn't care or understand. I told him exactly this would happen, and that with who lives here and the pay nobody is gonna stay long, and he waved me off. Now we've gone from approximately 14 employees daily to, as of after peak….4 if my count stands.

If I could I'd leave SO FAST, but I'm my fiance's ride to work, and there's actually nothing around here that is even remotely worth it to go to. I'm at a loss for what to do, anymore. Most places pull the 'nobody wants to work' card around here, then pay minimum wage for no hours at all. Any advice at all on what to do would be greatly appreciated,
