Won’t Install AC? Fine….

I work at a self storage facility in Arizona. It’s 115 outside almost daily and on top of cleaning and renting units, I also have a fleet of Uhaul trucks to maintain and rent. It’s just me. 5 days a week. Our site is old and has an apartment. There is a non-employee tenant in the apartment and she controls the thermostat for the office and the apartment. She keeps it low and that unit is running 24/7. Problem is, the office doesn’t cool down. The HVAC unit isn’t enough for the office and the apartment. It’s normally 82-85 degrees in my office by 2:00pm and that is with an extra portable unit also working. I’m calling out tomorrow because today I totally over did it and had a hard time cooling down most of the day. I have to buy my own drinking water. Boss says she’s waiting on…

Boss says she’s waiting on approval for a new HVAC unit, but I’ve been hearing that line for weeks.

Monday I’m filing an OHSA complaint if I don’t get a concrete answer on a new unit for the office. Am I asking to much or over reacting? It’s dangerously hot outside and my health is more important to me then their overhead.
