Just as the title says. When I was pregnant, I was offered full time remote work for the purpose of taking care of my baby. I didn't even ask, they offered. Fast forward, baby is 5 months old. Work just chewed me out for missing a couple phone calls. Like YES I am going to miss phone calls. They're expecting me to maintain the same level of productivity while also taking care of a baby. Funny that the company is all women, so you think they'd understand what they're saying.
So I'm in trouble for not being Available every second (due to nursing, diaper changes, calming my baby, etc.) And I feel like they're gonna keep an extra close eye on me now. I feel like I will probably be let go soon enough.
Husband only makes a few hundred dollars over our mortgage, so not enough for utilities, groceries, etc. Thinking of just collecting unemployment for a while if/when they fire me so I don't have to balance taking care of a baby and working (which is very stressful). Maybe when unemployment runs out, I doorsash, ubereats, etc. since it's so flexible. Ideas or advice?
PS: I'm anxious and a people pleaser so Im terrified of getting fired even if it's what's best for us.
PSS: Daycares are full in our city and they aren't even adding people to the wait lists at this time.
