Working for a massive non-profit in the US for the last 5 years. I’ve worked 80 hours weeks with no days off 4 weeks in a row a few times over those 5 years. Usually working well over 40 every week. We’ve all been constantly told we’ll get benefits soon for years and no results. There’s always an excuse. We’re also all titled as temporary employees. We all work hourly and have no job security. Some weeks we suddenly aren’t scheduled and just don’t work that week. Is it legal to have a temp working 40 hours a week for 5 years with no benefits? Any thing I can do or site to fix this or stand up for myself?
