Workers Rights Basics

I do a monthly “101” workshop series that hits on various topics of independent socialist organizing. In September we are doing workers rights. We have some folks developing a multi-part union organizing workshop, so we have that end of the spectrum is covered, but the discussions around that led to the realization that we also need a session on the absolutely basics because there’s a lot on the table short of union organizing. Im confident in what we’re got and we have experienced labor organizers supporting us, but I wanted to throw it for some decentralized input too. We needed content to educate and support those who, for a wide variety of reasons, may not be at the point of organizing a union, and just need the knowledge and confidence to advocate for themselves in their workplace.

So what are some topics that you think are important that we hit. I expect that a lot of suggestions Lori be things that we have on our list already, but I’m sure the antiwork collective mind will drop a thing or two that we hadn’t considered, or had forgotten about.
