Hi all. My manager today asked me to start working on my paid rest breaks. Is this legal? I’m in WV if it matters.
I’ve worked here for over a year and if there were only 2 of us (I work nights), we weren’t allowed to take breaks, as it is my company’s policy to always have 2 people clocked in, otherwise the store must be closed.
We also have a break quota, and my new manager has asked that no matter how many people are present, to clock out for a 20 minute (paid) rest break and keep working. I find this stupid as fuck, destroys the idea of a rest break, but I dunno if it’s illegal.
