It’s the middle of winter. Flu season, covid and RSV are everywhere. He even mentioned that he knows and understands this – but then went on to say that there are plenty of medicines available at the pharmacy to mask symptoms of both contagious and non-contagious illnesses so we need to try everything and really consider if it’s fair on the team to call in sick.
EVEN IF CONTAGIOUS. We work in the service industry. Directly customer facing and serving food and drink. So not only is it a massive risk to the public when we service over 500 people in venue per day, we will also make our other staff sick if we come to work with the flu, causing even more call outs which defeats the purpose.
