Ab a year and a half ago I worked at a certain americanized taco chain and about six months into working a new employee was hired: Shane. Shane was a crazy conspiracy nut who was racist antisemitic homophobic transphobic antivax anti homeless basically fucking insane and he constantly harassed the female workers specifically the younger ones like me (18f at the time) and my work friend (17f at the time). He did things like mention our weight our butts and touching and getting really close to us when attempting to “squeeze” by us even though there was plenty of room for him to go past not to mention his insane extremely offensive rants he often went on a particularly insane one I got caught up in one night when we were closing alone together (I would be fired if I refused and was scared and uncomfortable) he talked about how black and homeless people deserved to be shot by the police. This was the last straw and I and some others gathered our courage despite him being a manager at this point and reported everything to the area manager. They “gave him a verbal warning”. Now there was this other guy Rob super nice super sweet super hardworking old man. Everyone loved him. Shane got jealous and hired someone to do a criminal background check on him and posted the results in the work group chat apparently a long time ago he was involved in some shit and was convicted for murder. I DONT CARE. He was so sweet and frail and obviously harmless at that point that the response in the work chat was to cuss Shane out and shame him for purposely doing this to Rob knowing he would most likely get fired just because he was jealous. Everyone was so mad Shane was literally going insane I quit because they still wouldn't fire him even after we tried to go even higher up the ladder with our complaints and got chewed out by our area manager bc “if I make a decision it stops with me it's extremely disrespectful to try and go above my head”. A few weeks after I quit they ended up firing him anyway because he beat up a homeless man outside the store on shiftI feel so bad for all his victims
