Worse than a pizza party?

No joke this happened today. I have been in talks with my manager for months about getting a raise. In fact my whole department has been having similar conversations. For months these conversations went nowhere. Yesterday during a one-on-one with my manager, the conversation of getting a raise was brought up again. He told me he had asked upper management about them, and was just waiting on a response. Fast forward to today, my manager out of the blue tells myself and two other people in my department he, “has some updates for us” and schedules an impromptu meeting. Keep in mind we had all just had discussions with him yesterday about getting raises. His manager is in the meeting, which has never happened since I started working here, so at this point we are all thinking its game over and we are getting raises. My managers boss begins the meeting, thanking us for all the hard work we have been putting in. He then says that he wants to reward us for all of our hard work. At this point Im thinking its a bit odd that they are gonna have one big meeting to give us raises instead of individual ones, but i'm all for it since I have not gotten a raise since I started working at this company. He then goes, “Here is a hat to thank you for your hard work.” and hand us each a hat. A GD HAT! RIP. My direct supervisor then follows up “You guys should feel special, these are nice hats.” This company is joke. RIP. The end.
