Would you take the same job twice, through two different staffing agencies?

I worked in this warehouse a month or two ago. I got the job through a staffing agency that was extremely unprofessional. They told me very little about the job, itself – just the shift, pay and address. They also put in writing that, if I was late or missed a day, my pay would be reduced to minimum wage. We got Christmas off and, at the same time, the city got hit by a bad snow. I was in a pile-up near my apartment. No one was hurt, but tow trucks couldn’t get up the hill until the ice melted a day or two later. So, I called in only to find out that I didn’t have to work that day anyway. I called the next day and didn’t get an answer. I stayed home and helped get my car unstuck as well as the others who were there.…

I stayed home and helped get my car unstuck as well as the others who were there.

I assumed my pay would be retroactively reduced and that clause had always pissed me off anyway.

As for the warehouse, my hours fluctuated. Sometimes I’d get off around 7 PM. Sometimes I’d stay until midnight. I was always paid for 40 hours, however. The work, itself, wasn’t hard and I enjoyed it. My coworkers were pretty cool.

Now, I have an opportunity to start at the same place with the same hours, but slightly better pay and no risk of my wage being reduced to minimum. I don’t think my coworkers would care, but some of the managers might. They seemed chill, but you never can judge for sure. I could tell them there was some miscommunication with the staffing agency I was hired through the first time.

What would you do?
