i work at a doggy daycare/shelter, and so i am constantly on my feet cleaning up their messes, walking and running them, breaking up fights, feeding and refilling water, grooming and clipping nails, and cleaning dishes. we get one 10 minute break and i work 8 hours. in the play pen/yard, we have all the dogs in the daycare out playing with eachother. it’s one person to supervise per 25 dogs. i have to play with them, pick up or mop their poop and pee, make sure nobody is killing another. we have cameras on us at all times, so the owners of the dogs and also corporate and our leads can watch. we are not allowed to sit whatsoever in the yard because it looks bad for the camera and also so you don’t get bit. i can get bit at any time. but of course the small dog yards get to sit whenever they want for whatever amount of time. so i am constantly running and walking around the yard while it’s 98°F outside and my legs are practically about to give out. also, before work that day, i was on the ground vomiting and having terrible abdominal pains, but didn’t wanna be a bother and not go. anyway, my legs are about to give out so i sit down and give my legs a rest for just 30-40 seconds. i then give up and try not to sit again and continue watching the dogs and playing. a couple hours later, i am pulled into the office in the middle of taking dogs to go to the bathroom and being told i am getting written up for sitting. this is just a vent and i am just sad and mad. at myself and at my managers.
