So my male co-worker and I have recently been thinking about quitting our shitty job. My manager wanted to talk it out and I ended up breaking down into tears, telling her how hard it's been to stay at this job and how poorly we've been treated. She told us that we “can't leave” and begged us to stay. She even asked right away if I wanted more money, and I said YES!
Well, the new pay stubs came in and guess what? I am now making 65 cents more, and my male co-worker is making 70 cents more. Mind you, we work the same exact job, same hours, same days. He's even agreed that I work HARDER than him most of the time. I know it's only a difference of 5 cents, but that just solidifies the fact that they've always valued him more over me.
I don't even think I'm going to put in a notice. We both feel so disrespected and just want to quit already
