Hey guys! Long time lurker here. For quite a while I wanted to introduce myself to the community, but today I deceided to act on it. I work in a technology field myself, I'm in a manager's position, get a regular wage just like anyone else. I'm 26 years old at the moment.
I've seen quite a lot of outrageous companies' actions while surfing antiwork, some of them leave my jaw opened, like that one post where a manager of some fast food restaurant slaps the worker for wanting to clock out. Crazy.
But the majority of what I see in this subreddit are entitled assholes thinking that business almost has to drop to its knees to come and beg for their labour with preferably highest possible wage and least effort. Moreover, the benefits should reach at least 1h of work per day tops, clocking out at any point you want, not following your responsibilities if you don't want to.
I agree there are explotations happening from the business side. Sometimes some corporations wouldn't increase your wage according to inflation, would try to scam you in an event of you quitting, etc. and in these cases you should always fight. I had a share of negotiating with workplaces myself, left some companies due to a toxic work enviroment, so I'm on board with that attitude.
I also like the idea of living jobless. If I wouldn't care of being useless to the society – maybe I'd even do that.
But in reality after browsing posts and comments of this subreddit I will certainly consider some new work candidate as a huge red flag if they are a subscriber of this subreddit. Because lots of you people just smell like whining headaches with a tendency to exploit any part of your company if it is exploitable.
